Final call for applications for its 2020 Brighter Futures graduate programme. Interested graduates have until Friday, February 28th to apply for the programme, which over the last two years has been the stepping stone for over 50 graduates to begin careers in the food industry.

Successful applicants will join one of Europe’s largest food companies, with more than 7,000 staff worldwide and over €2 billion in turnover. As a supplier of choice to retailers, manufacturers and food service companies in over 50 markets, graduates will get practical insights into every area of the business and right through the supply chain. Dawn Meats offers graduates this exposure through numerous rotations during the two-year programme including procurement, engineering, finance, food safety, sustainability, new product development, operations and sales.

Continuous development and training are central to the programme which seeks to support the development of graduates into leaders of the future across the Group. The majority of the senior management team in Dawn Meats today themselves entered the company through the graduate programme. Graduates on the Brighter Futures programme will have access to dedicated mentors providing 1-to-1 coaching, and will participate in a bespoke management development programme with fast track career progression. There is also the potential to rotate to different sites across Ireland and the UK, as well as sales and marketing offices and Europe.

Tom Kenny, a recent sales and marketing graduate in Dawn Meats said: “Dawn Meats’ graduate programme has given me access to and insight into a really varied range of disciplines. Exposure to the entire supply chain is important to understand what it takes to become a future manager and leader within the business. You’re also given a lot of responsibility from early on in the programme, which keeps you motivated and allows for greater job satisfaction. I’ve enjoyed the variety of work I have done so far and if I could offer one piece of advice to anyone thinking about applying, it would be to go with an open mind. You might feel at home in a particular area which you wouldn’t have considered throughout college.”

Niall Browne, Dawn Meats CEO, adds: “Our graduates are an important part of our business at a day to day level, but also in how we plan for the future. We want the brightest minds with the best ideas who can ensure our ongoing progress towards becoming Europe’s most sustainable meat company. Many of the senior management team, myself included, have come through the programme, demonstrating the opportunities for career progression. I would encourage students who are considering their future to apply before February 28th.”
