The company was established in 1980 in Co Waterford in Ireland and has grown into a global business that now generates €4.75 billion in annual revenue while employing over 12,000 staff in 13 countries.
Dawn Meats works with many of the world’s leading food companies, all of which are attracted by the company’s ongoing commitment to sustainability and quality. The business remains true to its farming heritage through the close relationships it has forged with the 30,000 family farms in Ireland and the UK and 4,300 famer-shareholders in New Zealand, from which the company directly sources grass-fed cattle and lamb for processing at its sites in Ireland, the UK and New Zealand. In total, Dawn Meats has eleven sites in Ireland, 13 in the UK and six in New Zealand.
Trading as Dawn Meats in Ireland, Dunbia in the UK and Alliance through its joint partnership in New Zealand, the combined businesses process approximately 1.6m cattle and 8m sheep annually.
