ROLE SUMMARY:

Fantastic graduate level opportunity for a technically focused individual to represent the company on all technical issues, liaising between R&D, sales and the production area. Ensuring that all products are produced in a safe and legal manner and in compliance with Dawn Meats best practice. Ensuring that all products are in alignment with both the company’s policies and the retailer’s policies and strategies. ROLES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

General duties will include but are not limited to the following:

  • An awareness of food science and nutrition with a focus on best practice and from a legislative perspective - Food safety, hygiene and nutritional requirements.
  • Assisting with quality operations, procedures and document control.
  • Maintain and update the department files including SOPs, risk assessments, HACCP documents and quality management documents.
  • Carry out audits as per schedule.
  • Evaluate the written SOP’s being carried out.
  • Maintain and manage non-conformance logs.
  • Log complaints and communicate to the relevant personnel. Assist with close out investigations into complaints including root cause analysis.
  • Microbiological and chemical sampling of finished product and raw materials as per sampling schedule.
  • Carry out internal audits and assist with external and customer audits.
  • Commercial awareness.
  • Excellent communication skills – oral & written.

THE CANDIDATE:

Essential: 

  • Educated to degree level in a related discipline (Food Technology, Nutrition, Science)
  • Proficient in Microsoft word/excel/outlook etc. 
  • Decisive, good communicator, ability to work well as part of a team and strong attention to detail.

Desirable:

 

  • HACCP trained

Job Title:  Loading Bay Operative

ROLE SUMMARY:

Dawn Meats require a determined, self-motivated individual who can maintain and improve current levels of quality and performance and make a positive contribution to the company's future growth. The successful candidate will work as a loading bay operative for our site in Slane and will be required to work a flexible shift pattern from Sunday through to Thursday.

ROLES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Loading and unloading trailers of beef carcases to and from various destinations in the correct sequence.
  • Ensuring that everything is wrapped and built correctly prior to loading.
  • Ensuring that there are no oversized or broken pallets loaded onto the trailer.
  • Informing supervisor/manager when each trailer is loaded/unloaded.
  • Meet or exceed minimum efficiency levels established through the company standards.
  • Work efficiently, proactively and always be Health & Safety conscious as this role is based in a fast-paced production environment.
  • Meet or exceed established accuracy levels.
  • Must be able to communicate effectively at all levels of the business.
  • Follow ethical instructions given by the supervisor/manager as you may be required to carry out other duties.
  • Follow procedures to comply with HACCP policy and work in a safe and hygienic manner.
  • Develop a good working knowledge of product, placement, and inventory control techniques and procedures.
